The mission of Bethune-Cookman University’s Office of Academic Affairs follows the University’s mission statement. As the University does, we in the Office of Academic Affairs commit ourselves to serve in the Christian tradition the educational, social, and cultural needs of our students—traditional and nontraditional—and to develop in them the desire and capacity for continuous intellectual and professional growth, leadership, and service to others.
Our goal in the Office of Academic Affairs is to provide consistent, timely, and courteous service to all students, faculty, staff, and visitors who come to our Office. We commit ourselves to taking all feedback from each consistency seriously and to making any changes necessary to enable us to serve their needs better and to fulfill the University’s mission more effectively.
In particular, our goal is to maintain high standards of academic excellence and integrity in all academic programs; to provide the necessary support to make the academic programs of the University function well; to oversee the hiring of outstanding faculty and the process by which faculty and academic administrators are evaluated; to make wise decisions on the basis of information we receive regarding our faculty and academic administrators when they are evaluated; and to provide leadership for the University’s academic life and academic programs.
