Celebrating Black History Month Bethune Cookman University (B-CU) is pleased to present, "Faces of Color," a juried multi-medium visual art exhibit hung in conjunction with selected works from national artists.
All works in this exhibit will be displayed in the Visual Arts Gallery located in the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center on the B-CU campus. Professional artists created the work in a variety of mediums including, photography, oil paint, fabric and collage.
The exhibit opens on Feb. 3, with a reception 6-8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Exhibit curator Juanita Yeager from Altamonte Springs, Fla., selected pieces for this exhibit that focused on the faces of people with African heritage. The works are not all portraits in the literal sense and the facial images depicted range from realistic to the abstract.
Yeager can be reached for additional comments at (321) 972-2459.
The Performing Arts Center and Visual Arts Gallery is handicap accessible and open to the public during normal Bethune-Cookman University hours. For hours of operation and directions, contact the office of Cedric Evans, facility manager, at (386) 481-2774.
