(President Trudie Kibbe Reed accepts a generous $90,000 contribution from Mr. Ed Williams, general manager of the Coca Cola Company of Daytona Beach.)
 
On Wednesday December 12 the Coca Cola Company, Daytona Beach presented Bethune-Cookman University with a check for $90,000. The check was presented to B-CU President Dr. Trudie Kibbe Reed by Mr. Ed Williams, General Manager of the Coca Cola Company, Daytona Beach. The funds were donated to support the B-CU athletics program including the building of the new Football Training Center.

Dr. Reed was very excited about this donation stating “On behalf of the university community, I am pleased to accept this generous contribution from Coca Cola to support the university’s athletics’ program. It is an honor to have Mr. Williams around the B-CU table to share in the spirit of our visions and achievements.” Coca-Cola is the official beverage of Bethune-Cookman University and their continued support is greatly appreciated by the entire University family. Franklin Beckwith '59 Donates $60,000 to B-CU

Franklin Beckwith, who is blind, couldn’t see the expanse of the current campus. But, he said he wants to be a part of educating the next generation and contribute to the school’s growth. Thus, he proudly delivered a check for $60,000 to Bethune-Cookman University, and quietly asked that the funds be used to help current students pay for their education.
