ACTIVITIES

Friday September 1st   
Awards & Recognition Gala.  Recognize and honor corporate sponsors, outstanding alumni from other HBCU’s living and working in North Florida, and outstanding accomplishments of local citizens.  Hyatt Regency Jacksonville.  Reception:  6 PM  Program 7 PM.  Reservations encouraged.  Tickets are $35/person.  Alumni Hospitality immediately following the gala.

Saturday, September 2nd
Old Fashion Pep Rally.  Wear your school’s colors. Prizes for “Best Dressed Alumni”.  Hyatt Regency at 10 AM. Alumni Class Roll Call at 11 AM.  FREE ADMISSION.  The event hosted by the Duval/Nassau Alumni Chapter and the North Florida Booster Club.

Saturday, September 2nd
Festival at ALLTEL Stadium.  Family Fun Day.  Entertainment, food, kids’ activities, vendors.  Battle of the Fans.  Entertainment.  Music.  Health Fair.  Tailgating.  Noon ‘til 6 PM.  The Event is FREE.  Parking is only $5/space.  Oversized vehicles - $20 per vehicle.  The public is invited!

Saturday, September 2nd
Gates at ALLTEL open at 6 PM.  Pre-game show starts at 6:30.  Kickoff – 7 PM.  General Admission:  $20.  Reserved Club Seats:  $30. Students (under age 18) and Military $15.  Group discount tickets are $17 general admission and $27 for reserved tickets.  A minimum of 20 tickets required for the discount rates.  Contact A. Saturday, September 2nd
The Gateway Classic Victory Celebrations.  TWO SEPARATE VENUES:  1) College students/young adults. 2) Alumni, 25 and older crowd.  Venue – Both events:  The Hyatt Regency,   10 PM – 2 AM.

Bethune-Cookman College Headquarters is the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, 225 Coastline Drive, Jacksonville, FL.  The daily rate for deluxe King/Queen rooms is $105.  Daily self-parking rate is $12/day.  Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-233-1234.  The deadline is August 18, 2006.  Be sure to ask for the Gateway Classic weekend rate.

B-CU to Host Black Male Empowerment Summit April 30-May 2

Bethune-Cookman University will bring nationally renowned speakers to the campus for a Black Male Empowerment Summit from April 30 to May 2. The summit, “Elevating the Man, While Supressing the Hood,” is free and open to the public.
