President's Desk

Dearest Friends,

On behalf of your 2012-2013 Student Government President, I personally would like to welcome you to the new academic year. The coming year holds a multitude of opportunities for each student to be leaders, empower themselves and others, and celebrate the tremendous strength of our University community.

In a short time, you will see how the entire University community supports each member. We are a family whether we are studying together for a test or enjoying good conversation in one of our newly completed facilities. We call you to commit and contribute to our supportive community. Be a part of our family and take advantage of the all the opportunities provided to you at The University of Bethune Cook-man University.

Throughout the year, academic scholarship is undoubtedly a focus; however, we also encourage you to learn and excel beyond the classroom. Try something new during your time at Bethune-Cookman. Allow challenging yet nurturing nature to empower you. Each of you has the potential to develop into men and women who live generously, act deliberately, and commit to service for others.

Always remember, Student Government is here as your resource, and we are honored to represent and serve you this academic year. You are welcome to stop by our office in the Center for Civic Engagement Suite 8-10 .

I wish you the best of luck in all your endeavors this year!

Sincerely,

James E. McCray

President
Student Government Association 2012-2013
