Darold A. Ingram Jr. is the Student Body President at Bethune-Cookman University, representing more than 3,500 students at the Daytona Beach campus. He serves as the only student member on the B-CU Board of Trustees.

Darold was elected in April, making him the youngest ever to serve as Student Body President. During his one-year term as Student Body President which began April 12, Darold has made a decree to advocate for student rights while keeping students informed about issues facing the campus by improving communication between Student Government and B-CU students.

As Student Body President, Darold plans to support a number of student-backed initiatives to create a better student experience for both undergraduate students and graduate students at the university. He wants to broaden the number of student opportunities to be able to rent textbooks and reduce the overall cost of education by supporting and bringing more scholarships to the campus for the students at B-CU. He also plans to establish a university-wide community service challenge benefitting the greater Volusia County community, and to embrace the vision of Civic Engagement, given to us by our great President Dr.Reed.

Darold has been tremendously involved around the campus of B-CU outside of Student Government. He has participated in different groups where he led efforts to encourage students to get involved in Student Government by reaching out and helping students understand college life in a positive manner. He also previously served in Student Government as Historian.

Born in Orlando, Florida, Darold was raised in Orlando before attending Bethune-Cookman University. He plans to receive his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from B-CU in May 2011 and is pursuing a master's degree in Criminal Justice Leadership. Darold, 21, is a very goal driven young man and he strives for every student to have the best college experience while here at B-CU.
