College Prep Reading
The college-prep reading courses are designed for adults starting their higher education endeavors who could benefit from strengthening their reading skills. The courses cover vocabulary, literal and interpretive comprehension and critical reading.
An “active learning” approach is used in the classrooms. This means that students will be engaged in learning activities, such as discussions and projects, as opposed to passively listening to lectures.
Mandatory lab assignments reinforce skills and strategies utilizing individualized instruction. The instructor may occasionally substitute enrichment activities for lab.
Additional tutoring is available for students by request. The instructor may also require a student to attend additional tutoring sessions if deemed necessary.
