Carl S. Swisher Learning Resources Center
The Carl S. Swisher Library at Bethune-Cookman University is the center of learning on campus – a common ground for research, study, and collaboration.
Containing over 106,000 volumes, the University’s collection includes a circulation collection, periodical collection, a non-print media center and a special collection of books by and about blacks. The library also houses the University archives which include documentary, photographic and other materials of historic value to the University as well as many of the works of our founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune.
The library maintains an open-stack system on the first and second floors. The second floor also provides group study rooms, a computer center, conference rooms and the special collection.
In addition to its collection of books, periodicals and research materials, the library’s professional staff provides consultative services to faculty, staff, students and visitors, helping them maximize the library’s services and facilities.
