Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) is a four-year, private and fully accredited institution of higher education. Bethune-Cookman is one of the largest of the 39 member UNCF colleges located in the Atlantic coast city of Daytona Beach, Florida, with a population of more than 61,000 (2010 U.S. Census Bureau).

Resident Halls:

There are 16 residential houses; seven (7) female houses, Three (3) male houses, two (2) scholarship houses (1 male and 1 female), and Three (3) Leadership house (2 male and 1 female), and one (1) Honors residential hall.  The residential houses have the capacity to hold 1,967 students.

Degrees Conferred:

During 2012-13, the university conferred 454 Bachelor degrees and 24 Graduate degrees.

NSF Awards B-CU $400,000 Grant

The National Science Foundation has awarded a grant of $400,000 to Bethune-Cookman University for support of “Targeted Infusion Project: Developing Quantitative Expertise in the Undergraduate Biology Curriculum (QEUBiC).” The project is directed by Dr. Raphael D. Isokpehi, Dr. Elizabeth R. Congdon and Dr. Katharina C. Wollenberg Valero. The award starts August 15, 2014 and ends July 31, 2017.
