Commencement Admission Tickets

On March 7, 2011, the Daytona Beach Ocean Center informed Bethune-Cookman University that the Center's "Fire Safety Policy requires that the facility not exceed the maximum occupancy within any part of the building. Moving forward all graduations that may potentially fill the Ocean Center to capacity will be required to use/distribute numerical tickets not to exceed 6,500. Each guest that enters the Ocean Center must have a ticket for a seat. The cause for this change is to ensure the safety and security of the event guests, graduates and employees” (Daytona Beach Ocean Center, 3/7/11).

Bethune-Cookman University will make every effort to accommodate our graduates and attendees for this memorable celebration! Each graduate will receive a maximum of 10 complimentary tickets for guests.

Spring 2012 candidates for degrees who have met all graduating requirements and plan to participate in the Spring Commencement Ceremony will be notified when tickets will be available for pickup.  Tickets will be distributed at the Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Center during the week prior to the Commencement ceremony.  

Graduates who completed all graduating requirements during the Summer 2011 sessions and/or Fall 2011 semester may participate in the Spring 2012 Commencement Ceremony.  To participate, graduates must contact the Bethune Performing Arts Center—between April 16th and April 27th--to reserve tickets.  They must pick up the reserved tickets by 4:00 p.m. on the Thursday before Commencement.

A limited number of tickets will be available to the general public.  The specific dates and times to pick up tickets will be announced at a later time.
